National Societies To Support Thanasayan Tomorrow

PETPOSITIVE NEWSFLASH!

SEVERAL NATIONAL SOCIETIES FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES in the country will be handing over a memorandum  to Menteri Besar of Selangor Tan Sri Datuk Seri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim and State Local Government, Study and Research Committee chairman Ronnie Liu.

The memorandum is to express their support for the reappointment of Anthony Thanasayan as councillor for the Petaling Jaya City Council.

Thanasayan was recently attacked in a press conference by several individuals in order to try and block him from being a councillor.

Many feel that the criticisms hurled at Thanasayan were a personal vendetta by disgruntled individuals who fell out of favour with the councillor.

The NGOs that are backing Thanasayan are the Independent Living and Training Centre, The Dyslexic Association of Malaysia, Perwira K9, the Community Services for the Deaf and The Malaysian Animal-Assisted Therapy for the Disabled and Elderly Association or PETPOSITIVE.

Thanasayan was scheduled to have been sworn in earlier this week but was put "on hold" in order to investigate the criticisms against him.

The media event will take place tomorrow. More details then.
