Dr Xavier: Zero Tolerance For Animal Cruetly

"The way forward for animal welfare in our society, particularly for Selangor, is to set up a special committee at the state level involving all the local councils to come together regularly to discuss and share ideas and develop strategies on how to effectively and humanely tackle stray control management and other issues related to animals.

"It is also vital for local councils and animal welfare NGOs to work together for common goals.

This was told  by told by Dr Xavier Jayakumar, the state assemblyman by Seri Andalas in Klang Selangor yesterday to about 150 participants attending a special forum on World Animal Day by MBPJ and DBKL.

Referring to the recent cruelty incident by dogcatchers by MPKj, Dr Jayakumar condemned the act outright and demanded that the council take responsibility over the incident, including punishing those responsible for their cruel act. 


"Such acts should never be tolerated by any council in our society," He added to the sounds of applause from the floor.
