Don't Believe Crackpots - Please Check Your Facts First!

MBPJ Choking And Starving Strays To Death In Their Van?

aNt's aNgle:

I RECEIVED an SMS this morning from PAWS Animal Welfare Society confirming the delivery dates and times of dogs from the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) to the animal shelter in Subang, PJ that was posted in PET+BLOGSPOT yesterday

PAWS latest information corroborates with MBPJ's defense that no animal cruelty occurred with its dogcatchers last month.

MBPJ was accused yesterday by a local animal group of a possible attempt of locking up two puppies in their van, starving them and exposing them to a fatal disease where the animals are said to have died last week.

"It was most mischievous and malicious of the animal NGO to spread such lies about MBPJ without being professional and checking the facts first which is the duty of every responsible organisation," said MBPJ's Canine Advisory Team Chairman Anthony Thanasayan to PET+BLOGSPOT.

"It was an extremely cheap and pathetic attempt to gain publicity for themselves at the council's expense by spreading falsehood," he added.

Thanasayan, who is also President of PETPOSITIVE, says it is vital for animal welfare organisations and those who advocate for animals to maintain integrity and professionalism at all times - especially if they want to champion animal causes.

"They should never resort to low down, underhanded tactics which can severely backfire on them and make them lose all credibility."

He also advised members of the public not to believe everything they hear or read without properly checking out the facts of the details first from the relevant sources before they accuse anyone of misconduct.
