Kota Kemuning "Kidnapped" Dogs To Be Re Homed At Once

PETPOSITIVE NEWSFLASH!

DATELINE SHAH ALAM:

PET+BLOGSPOT is now able to confirm that two dogs were indeed confiscated by the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) in Kota Kemuning on Wednesday.

The dogcatchers seizure of the canines act was indeed illegal. The dogs were, however, returned to the owners yesterday on the condition that the canines - that were strays -  be re homed at once.

According to a reliable source, the owners who collected their dogs from the pound had promised to re home the dogs straightaway last night. A third canine would be re homed soon.

The action by MBSA was said to be taken after complaints from a neighbour. The first report was made on June 14 this year. A notice to the pet owners sent out on the 21st of the same month.

According to the source, the dogs were supposed to have been re homed soon after. However, they have been around since then.

In a strange twist, it appears that the complainant against the dogs - who owns a canine himself - may have to give up his pet as well.

MBSA has a ruling that requires would-be pet owners to seek the permission of their neighbours before thinking of owning a dog.

PETPOSITIVE has always been against such a ruling. We even organised a public demonstration against such a move some years ago.

Our President Anthony Thanasayan who is also Chairman of the Canine Advisory Teams (CAT) of the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) and the Klang municipality (MPK) will make an official visit soon to MBSA to discuss better ways to deal with animal ownership.

MBSA's canine unit will also be invited to attend MBPJ's World Animal Day celebration in PJ on October 13 next month which will be launched by Selangor state health chief Dr Xavier Jayakumar.
