In fact, from what I read from the internet, most countries have dogcatchers or otherwise known as animal control officers because it's a much needed profession for the good of the country. There's also a series of documentaries on the profession in Astro called Animal Cops! I believe this Anthony fellow is on the right track when he formed this CAT comittee. Good Job!

I am a flight crew for a local airline. I have visited, in my more than 12 years many countries throughout the world and have seen first hand the situation overseas.

Trust me, the CAT initiative although quite new is a necessary program. Look at Johannesburg, Australia, USA, UK......the list goes on.

I think this guy is doing an excellent job! Getting strays of the streets is an important service that more often neglected by the councils here. This is what I got from the web on our neighbouring country.

Thailand: Rabies

In Bangkok of Thailand, an owner of a pet shop at Chatuchak Weekend Market died from Rabies on 14 February 2010. The victim was bitten by a 3-year-old Rottweiler. The dog later died followed by another eight pets at the victim’s house. So far this year of 2010, 6 people have died from Rabies, as compared with 24 in 2009 and 9 in 2008.

Reported in February, does that mean rabies in on the increase in Thailand? I think they let strays roam freely after vaccination and neutering because of the religion issue. But according to sources, you'd have to recapture them every 2 years to re-vaccinate them again. Wouldn't that be difficult to do? People say you can't catch the same rat twice. Would that also apply to cats and dogs?

Nuff Said!!!
