A SERIOUS CONTROVERSY has erupted between the Independent Living and Training Centre in Rawang, Selangor and Beautiful Gate Centre in Petaling Jaya.
Readers may recall a police report made last month by a former resident of the ILTC alleging physical abuse in the centre. The issue was highlighted in the Malay Mail and The Star. Click here for some background.
From what we understand, a police investigation was carried out on the ILTC and the NGO concerned was subsequently cleared of any wrongdoing.
Apparently, the ILTC are now claiming that they have very strong reason to believe that the report was concocted and instigated by a disabled individual and pastor from Beautiful Gate - a Christian organisation run by the Methodist Church of Malaysia.
If true, such actions should be strongly condemned.
The disabled community are already severely marginalised in our Malaysian society. And the last thing that we need is such backbiting from organisations meant to improve the quality of lives of handicapped people.
Let us hope that the matter will be solved as amicably, professionally, fairly and quickly as possible over the next few days.

very well said by a disable councilor, as the disable should be working for one goal and not fighting each other.as a disable myself this issue should be settled by all parties sitting down face to face and bring this issue to a amicable end .Like what the disable councilor Anthony Tanasyan said.
" God said love each other as one"
