Disabled Activist Under Surgery

PET+NEWSFLASH!

Disabled activist Chong Tuck Meng is in surgery right now to further improve his condition in a private hospital in Kuala Lumpur. Doctors are removing one of his leg from below his knee which they believe is the cause for his continued infection that is troubling Chong.

"We believe that the amputation will significantly

improve Chong's prognosis for a full recovery," one of his doctors told me this afternoon.

"The fact that Chong is responding to his wife is a good sign," he added.

Chong, however, is still breathing through a respirator and remains critically ill. He is admitted in the Intensive Care Unit.

Chong's wife Elizabeth has requested from everyone to pray for his full recovery. The surgery is expected to be over by 8.30pm today.
