THIS
WAS the last disability technical meeting in MBPJ last year.
This is
one of our proudest achievements in the council.
Experts with various life-experience
handicaps join together with MBPJ's technical professionals to tackle
the issue of disabled-unfriendly buildings.
Engineers and architects of
new buildings are forced to come to us first before they go to the One
Stop Centre to get their final approval to
their projects.
They must satisfy us first that their handicapped
facilities are up to the mark.
You will be surprised as to how many
don't know about it or don't really care. So we have to put them right.
In this picture, you will see representatives for wheelchair users,
walking difficulties, Persons w Parkinson's ( Malaysian Parkinson's Disease Association) little persons needs and the blind.
I am chairman of the meeting and seated on my right is Nazihah Jaafar our special assistant from the planning department.
