Inclusive Images Of All Residents Vital

From Anthony Siva Balan Thanasayan's Facebook page:

FOLKS, one of my best contributions that I personally feel that was helpful to the Petaling Jaya City Council since I joined in July of 2008 was to try and make everyone realise that when we talk about residents of PJ, it must be inclusive of all persons, namely the disabled and the elderly.

The handicapped have largely been left out in the infrastructure and virtually every other aspect of the local councils which is the reason why they are left out of everything.

Over the years, MBPJ has learnt this message,
hence we came up with this drawing of the true local community that is inclusive to all.

This picture helps MBPJ now to focus on the full community of PJ when the council formulates all its programmes.

Being there physically in my wheelchair has also served as an excellent reminder for the able-bodied persons in the council (both officers and councillors) that people with disabilities like me very much exist in our society.

There is an imperative need therefore to reach out to them.
