ONE OF MY MISSIONS in MBPJ as a disabled councillor is to join our disability audit access teams and check on handicapped friendly facilities in PJ.
There have been more than one occasions where the truth that we discovered wasn't exactly the kind that we were hoping for. But part of our job is to look at our own weaknesses as a city and see what we can do to improve ourselves.
Here are two toilets we found at the Kelana Jaya stadium that were
unusable by disabled patrons.
Although they are a result of vandalism, there was no excuse for not keeping them up and ready for use. The relevant authorities have been notified and action is being taken on rectifying the problem at once.
I will also be raising up at our main meeting that all disabled friendly facilities be given top priority throughout the city and they must be kept in top shape at all times for users with disabilities.
