Derek Fernandez To Move Motion For Anti-Discriminatory Practises in Restaurants in PJ

PETPOSITIVE NEWSFLASH!

DATELINE PETALING JAYA, SELANGOR:

"If what happened (Pizza Hut incident) is true and if indeed such an establishment did have such a policy then we may need to prohibit such an establishment from continuing to operate. In Petaling Jaya we would ask the establishment to show cause why its licence should not be revoked. While there are general terms in a licence against conduct that is prejudicial to the public interest, I will be moving a motion at the MBPJ  licensing committee for a specific clause prohibiting gender, racial, religious, discrimination on disability in all establishments licenced to operate in Petaling Jaya. Maybe common decency is not as common as we think. Certainly everyone will become disabled to some extent over time as we age or through sickness and it is shocking that people can do this if that was in fact what was done. We hope the KL City Hall will take firm action against such behaviour."
