Better Be The Right Disabled Senator Than The Wrong One!

aNt's aNgle: It was announced today that a new disabled senator has been appointed for Malaysia and scheduled to be announced during the upcoming Budget Day this month.
Well, all eyes (and ears) will definitely be on that person who will be thrust with a very heavy responsibility.
More so as the last one was a colossal flop when it came to helping the disabled grassroots!
Though blind, there were many from the visually impaired community who felt very let down by him.

Word was out that he hardly said anything about the handicapped in Parliament - let alone putting up a fight for us.

Well the new one - whoever he or she is - must not be afraid to take up the torch and speak out for us!
It's high time for a disabled senator to be someone in a wheelchair because in short, we suffer the most through the lack of physical accessibility.

Some suspect it will a Deaf person this time.

Well, all we can say is he had better speak for all types of disabilities as well.

Some of the present Deaf leaders we know are not too impressive - thinking about their personal welfare instead of others.
The disabled community has waited for far too long for positive and meaningful changes to take place.

We are fed up of tokenisms and patronage!
