THANK YOU Marcus Foo
for dropping by in my house to help me get ready and get out to vote this morning.
I had great
fun as we walked/wheeled over to the local school to vote. I was glad that
you were allowed in with me right up to the ballot box to make my
votes. This was not allowed before.
I
was also thrilled that there was no queue at all for me in my
wheelchair although there was already more
than 100 persons waiting when we got there. We were allowed to sail right through - the process was over
in about 5 minutes!
I was also glad to see some empty wheelchairs
provided for voters with disabilities and the elderly. They were also placed visibly for everyone to see.
(But sad to note
that in another polling station in Bangsar, people in wheelchairs were
carried up to the first floor to make their votes. This is
unacceptable!)
Thanks also Marcus for taking me for a walk in
the park afterwards. It was a great feeling to be part of our historical
voting event today. Now enjoying quality time with my dogs and waiting
for the results to come in later this evening. According to an Aljazeera
correspondent, the first real results should come in around 8.30pm -
9pm.
Happy voting all!
