Animal Lovers Anticipating An Exciting Event Tomorrow

PETPOSITIVE NEWSFLASH!

DATELINE PETALING JAYA:

EXCITEMENT is building up here as pet lovers wait to celebrate World Animal Day tomorrow in a local field here.

As many as 700 invitations have been sent out to pet lovers, residents associations and also animal NGOs to attend the event that is being put up by the Petaling Jaya City Council or MBPJ.

"This is the first time that the local council is involving dogs," said MBPJ Councillor Anthony Thanasayan who is also President of PETPOSITIVE.

"The specially invited canines will be teaching pet owners how to be more responsible for their care in a city that clearly puts animals as one of their top priorities - hence the celebration of World Animal Day," he added.

State Exco Dr Xavier will launch tomorrow's event along with the deputy mayor of Petaling Jaya. MBPJ's dogcatchers will be given a special recognition for their intrepid and caring work with animals and three owners in the city will be presented with special awards at the event which focuses on responsible pet ownership.

Other features include a special booth to register for dog licenses, lucky draw prizes and a meat-less brunch for the participants. It's all happening at 8am - 11am at Astaka Field tomorrow. See you there!
