We received an email from a reader over the weekend who is upset with her higher school of learning for conducting shooting of stray dogs in her campus grounds.
Xyz, an undergraduate from Nottingham University in Malaysia in Semenyih in Selangor, is not only traumatized by the incident but outraged at the management's act of cruelty.
"The university, which has a stray population, says the shooting is to ensure student's safety. This is done on our campus and near the accommodation hall," wrote Xyz.

"Some of us witnessed the shootings, with the canines moaning and lying down on the hot tarred road before eventually dying," she added.
"Whilst the Uni claims it's for the safety of students, the dog-shooting is only a blatant disregard of Nottingham student's safety.
"Furthermore, being a foreign UK university should all the more act in a way fitting of its reputation and be an example than to stoop to such a level."
Xyz believes the authorities conducting the shootings is the local council.
Dog-shooting has been banned by the Department of Veterinary Services (DVS) in Malaysia.
According to the DVS, if at all shooting is done, it should be done in close supervision by them and never by anyone.
Note: PET+BLOGSPOT is unable to contact Nottingham University for their comments nor the local council owing to the Aidilfitri holidays for their response on this story.
