Petpositive on Astro Awani At Lunchtime

Exclusive Interview with Anthony Thanasayan on Astro Awani

DATELINE ASTRO ALL-ASIA NETWORK, KUALA LUMPUR:

HERE'S A CHANCE to find out about how animals can play a positive role in the lives of people with disabilities.

Tune in to Astro Awani's In Person show this afternoon at 1.30pm when host Syed Farradino Omar will be speaking to Anthony Thanasayan on animal-assisted therapy and his  activism with disability.

Born disabled, he was denied a formal education because the authorities refused to make a disabled-friendly toilet, he says.

Depression set in during his teenage and young adult life until a trip to the United States in the late eighties changed his life forever.

His exposure to service dogs overseas led him to start a programme in Malaysia that led him to work with all types of pets for animal-assisted therapy.

He will speak about how a Rottweiler changed his life and how PETPOSITIVE - the Society in which he is President, embarked on aquarium therapy that made a major impact in the life of a profoundly disabled young lady.

The interview which lasts for half an hour took place in Mid Valley Megamall in Kuala Lumpur recently.

Today's show will also be repeated on Monday at 6am and 3.30pm.

Astro Awani is aired on Astro Channel 501.
