SHARIZAT IS ON A SPECIAL PERSONAL EXPOSURE TRIP TO BETTER UNDERSTAND THE NEEDS OF PEOPLE WITH LEARNING DISABILITIES OR PLDs.
Also with her is Anthony SB Thanasayan, President of PETPOSITIVE.
The visit to the PDM is a result of an earlier meeting with Sharizat by four nongovernmental organisations.
Petpositive, which was one of the NGOs that was present, was also instrumental in organising the special meeting with the Minister.

Sharizat told the group in that meeting that she would work towards improving her government's services in order to raise the quality of lives for PLDs.
Her first step, she said, would be to get the welfare department and Ministry of Special Education in consultation with each other in all matters related to people with learning disabilities.
Currently there is a flaw where the rightful authorities for special education are not called in for matters related to PLDs such as in the approvals for care and training centres to operate in the country.
"Disabled people are the best to articulate their needs rather than the able-bodied," the Minister pointed out.
"In the case of PLDs, it is their caregivers who know best and it is up to us as Government caregivers to learn from the unique experieces of those with special needs," she concluded.
Today's trip is the last for the Minister before she goes away on holiday.
The Dyslexia Association of Malaysia is one of the best known NGOs for PLDs.
Sariah Amirin with PDM's veep Dr Aziz Abu Hassan.
It's president Puan Sariah Amirin, was one of the pioneers for special education in public schools when it began in the late eighties.
