Kuala Langat Council Clearly Inept With Banting Dogs Issue

BANTING DOGS PETPOSITIVE UPDATE:
Rotties love children

More incongruous and rubbish explanation has come out of the Kuala Langat District Council over
an incident in which pet loving Malaysians who are incensed by the local council's action are calling it "murder".
As many as nine pedigree dogs - according to the New Straits Times - were culled by the local council in Banting, Selangor on Sunday.
Some reports are saying 14 rottweilers were put down and others claim as many as 20 canines may have been involved.

"It's a disgrace how rottweilers are being victimised both by the local councils and the press over a case of human murders," a distressed professional dog-trainer from Seremban, Negeri Sembilan state told PET+BLOGSPOT.
"Rottweilers are one of the best breeds in the world and they are known for their steadfast focus and loyalty; they are also highly teachable," added the local dog-expert who is also a breeder of champion rottweilers.
An investigation by PET+BLOGSPOT has revealed that the local council did not involve the Department of Veterinary Services (DVS) - the right official body for such matters - when it carried out its exercise to handle the dog problem in Banting - including the put down.

Instead, a private dog-catching company was employed the euthanised the animals.
The claim that rotties which "are known to attack humans" implies as if the breed is the only one with the predisposition to bite. This is utter nonsense as all dogs can bite at any time - including strays.
From the reports, it seems very clear that the Kuala Langat District Council was totally inept in handling such a situation that resulted in the death of the innocent canines.
Here is today's New Straits Times Online report:
Council President: Dogs Could Not Be Controlled. Story by New Straits Times.

BANTING: The nine pedigree dogs belonging to the lawyer brothers had to be put to sleep as they had pounced on enforcement officers who went to the farm to catch them.
This was the reason given by Kuala Langat District Council president Abdul Razak Jaafar for the culling of six Rottweilers, two Dalmatians and a bulldog at the farm in Sungai Gadung here on Sunday.

Razak said since the dogs could not be controlled after they were caught, they were administered lethal tranquillisers, adding that it was done according to procedure.

He also said the dogs should not have been kept on the farm as pets, especially the Rottweilers, which were known to attack humans.

"We had to put them down for the safety of our staff and the rest of the enforcement team at the farm," he said.

He added that the owners did not have a permit to keep the dogs on their farm.

Kuala Langat police chief Assistant Commissioner Nordin Manan said they received a report lodged by the council that 13 goats were killed and eaten by the dogs.
