PLANS ARE WELL UNDERWAY to convert a certain spot on UPM's grounds in Serdang, Selangor, into a frolicking kennel of canines next month.
As many as 800-tail-wagging and prancing mutts of all kinds will converge in UPM's (University Putra Malaysia) park in Bukit Ekspo.
They'll be doing this in hope of getting their paws and tails into the Malaysia Book of Records as the largest ever gathering of canines in the country.

The project called 14th Dogathon 2010 is being put together by the junior, intermediate and senior veterinary students of UPM who number almost 250 people in total.
Most of them are members of UPM's popular in-house clubs known as Veternak and Zoologico.
When that happens, the clubs promise an additional record-breaking event: the gathering of as many as 2,500 people to witness the occasion.
Petpositive will be playing a big part in the event.
The Malaysian Animal-Assisted Therapy for the Disabled and Elderly Association has been given the biggest booth by the clubs to sell our fundraising items.
We would like to appeal to readers of PET+BLOGSPOT to kindly donate any good stuff that they think can be sold at the event to help in our cause of promoting animal-assisted therapy for the handicapped and seniors.
Please call: +6 012 220 3146 for more information or how to deliver your items to us. Or email us at: petpositive@yahoo.com
Yesterday, three members of the organising team of Dogathon 2010 visited our President Anthony SB Thanasayan at his residence to plan how people with disabilities can participate at the event.
They were co-director Yee Jia Yin (middle) from Petaling Jaya and her team, Johor-born Soon Xue Qi (left) and Sandy Ling Choo from Sarawak.
The discussion proved to be very useful as we covered issues of disabled car parks, volunteers and special needs like food and disabled toilets.
Jia Yin has a one-year old cat named Tuffy. Sandy also has a year-old feline named Smokey. Soon, however, has a nine-year old mongrel named Bobby.
Dogathon 2010 will be held on Sunday, August 8 from 6.30am until 2pm.
