DATELINE DESA MENTARI: Most charity organisations help people when they come to them for help.
NOT PETPOSITIVE!
We often find ourselves in situations where we have to go out and into the homes of the people that we want to help.
We recently helped two elderly persons to get brand new wheelchairs to help them with their mobility needs.

The residents who lived here were so poor that they had to find every opportunity to earn an income.

Then it was turn to meet M Muniammah, an 86-year old lady (below, left) with diabetes that had difficulty walking.

Now the trick was to find someone, or a group of people to come up with the money to buy two wheelchairs for the elderly duo.
We were back soon with the wheelchairs, a donation by MBPJ Councillor Tang Fuie Koh.
The first was a beaming Mr Vythi to try out his brand new wheelchair (see below).
Then it was Muniammah's turn to smile. We also brought a welfare officer from MBPJ to follow-up and make sure that the two members were also being looked after by the Welfare Department for their other needs.
Finally, it was out turn to smile for the camera. It was a great feeling to have done something good for people who were in real need of help.
A couple of days later, Muniammah's granddaughter - a single mother with four kids - was invited to attend a dance performance by Ramli Ibrahim.
The free tickets was a special gift by the Dance Doyen himself to Petpostive. What a wonderful ending to a beautiful story, we thought.
