A TRULY MEGA FESTIVAL has dawned in this friendly pearl of the orient island this weekend.
And the adrenaline-pumping action promptly kicks off today!
Called GO Penang International 2010 and endorsed by the Penang State Tourism Development and Culture, the occasion will showcase the finest elements of Penang.
These include an array of colourful cultural and heritage entities, to lots and lots of interesting people from Penang and the island's visitors.
And as if anyone ever forgot Penang's variety of mouthwatering adventures too!
How? We received the good news that Our Society has been selected together with two other non-profit to be helped by this great event.
Giant Malaysia is sponsoring The Charity Kiosk at the event where proceeds will go to PETPOSITIVE, The Salvation Army Children's Home and The Penang Home for the Infirm and the Aged.
The weekend of activities is organised by Roots Asia Pacific - a fusion marketing company that is based in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. It's founder and chief is Ms Lee Koon Foong,
This is not the first time that Roots is helping Petpositive. Last year, they helped come up with a beautiful desk calendar on birds in Malaysia that was a big hit.
This years assistance will go towards meeting the costs of maintaining Petpositive's Therapy Centre which is in the heart of PJ.
So please, take a bus, boat, train or even an airplane to get out to GO Penang International 2010 at the Penang Esplanade from 11am to 11pm daily to help us and the other charities out.

What is GO Penang International 2010?
GO Penang is a massive celebration done by the Penang State Tourism Development and Culture, GO Penang 2010 is a total experience Mega Festival engineered to make your adrenaline rush and heart thumps throughout the three-day event. GO Penang is intended to not only celebrate the multi-cultural society of Penang Island, which comprises mainly of three main ethnicities – the Chinese, Malays and Indians. Penang is not only famous for her beautiful beaches and people, but also famous for their mouthwatering delicious food! The beautiful Island gourmet ranges from street food to fine dining but her myriad of flavors are definitely unique to the island state.
To savor this delectable assortment of the senses, we should mark our calendars from 12 to 14 March because you will not want to miss the chance to witness the most phenomenon event of the year - GO Penang 2010 at Penang Esplanade! This is the one festival where visitors from all over the world will be given a hands-on experience to enjoy the distinctiveness and uniqueness of Penang.

The bazaar comprises of 100 stalls and a world market will be staged to accommodate your shopping splurge. Visitors can expect from a huge variety of knick-knacks, to a long list of delicious Penang delicacies.
Food lover will enjoy a full choice of authentic local taste and western fare including the signature Penang delicacies and world’s famous coffees and teas.

Miss Umbrella Girl 2010 is not any ordinary beauty pageant. The Competition is open to all Malaysian aged 18 to 28 years. Grand Prize Winner will walk away with prizes worth RM 5,500 and be specially trained & groomed to become the next most sought after host in Malaysia!
