HOW YOU CAN TAKE PART IN PETPOSITIVE'S ACTIVITIES

A READER RECENTLY INQUIRED HOW SHE COULD PARTICIPATE IN PETPOSITIVE'S ACTIVITIES.

She also asked whether or not we provide transport for participants to our activities.

Great questions!

First, in order to participate in our activities, you have to be disabled, elderly or a caregiver to such persons.

We work with all categories of disabled persons. You can be in a wheelchair, blind, Deaf, learning disabled, have mental illness or recently have suffered a stroke and even be a person with epilepsy.

You are most invited to participate because Petpositive is for YOU!

However, you will need to be registered first.

And the good news is, registration is free!

All you have to do is to give us all your details by either calling us at 012 220 3146 or email us at the following address: mailto:petpositive@yahoo.com

And we will get back to you to let you know when we are having our next activity and how you can take part in it.

As for transport; unfortunately we do not provide a transport service as yet as we are still in our infancy as a charitable NGO.

Providing transport is a long-term goal of ours that we are certainly working on. Our main priority now is to have a centre so that members can come to regular for animal-assisted therapy sessions.

We also intend to teach them independent living skills, disability awareness, computer classes and others.

Our activities at the moment are attended by disabled and elderly persons who are brought to our events by their caregivers or volunteers.

If you are a disabled/elderly person who has transport problems, call us anyway and we will try our best to work something out.

This will, of course, depend on where we are having our activities from the home of the participant.

If you are volunteer and would like to offer transport to some of our members from time to time, please also let us have your details so that we can contact you.

Petpositive is planning to make a trip to an animal shelter this month . The date has not yet been fixed.

We will announce it very soon.

If you like to take part, please call us at 012 220 3146.

Looking forward to hear from you,

aNt
